The essence of Domaine Henri Beurdin & Fils lies in the daily care of its vines and wines, aiming to bring more attention to these small appellations. Today, Jean-Louis Beurdin represents the domain and the third generation of winegrowers from this estate. Independent since Henri Beurdin, Jean-Louis practices reasoned viticulture and constantly seeks innovation to promote his appellation. Following the renovation of the domain, the tasting room, and the expansion of the cellar, Jean-Louis is now looking to acquire terracotta jars for his upcoming red cuvées.

AOC Reuilly: A Hidden Gem

The AOC Reuilly appellation, though less well-known both in France and abroad, is distinguished by its size. Located in the Loire Valley, it spans a modest area of about ten kilometers and benefits from a clay-limestone terroir, with sand and silt that are ideal for vine cultivation. Featuring agricultural slopes, it enjoys sunny hillside exposures and the influence of the Arnon and La Théols rivers. Despite its small size, this unique terroir located southwest of Bourges produces exceptional wines.

Sauvignon Blanc finds a particularly favorable environment here, expressing its character in an unparalleled manner. For red and rosé wines, Pinot Noir thrives in Reuilly, offering reds full of flavor and fruit, as well as colorful and fruity rosés. The AOC Reuilly was established in 1937 for white wines and in 1961 for rosé and red wines.

An Independent Estate Proud of Its Heritage

The domain has been a signatory of the charter of independent winegrowers for three generations. This pride in its terroir, work, and product fuels its desire to share the values and flavors of Reuilly wines. This respect is also reflected in the viticulture methods used, which are reasoned and primarily leverage the region's favorable microclimate. Jean-Louis has begun orienting his practices towards obtaining High Environmental Value certification to further preserve his vineyard and the biodiversity it supports. This initiative notably benefits local ladybugs, which have protected the vines from harmful insects for many years.
