Château Haut Baron is much more than a vineyard; it is a true family story. Located in Saint-Estèphe, at the heart of the Haut-Médoc region in Bordeaux, this 15-hectare estate is a source of great pride for the Baron family. Christine and Thierry Baron, who lead the estate, have passed their passion for wine to their son Lucas, who recently joined the family business. Their dog, Maïko, has also become a beloved family member and gradually the estate's mascot.

A Vision Since 1989

Since acquiring the vineyards in 1989, the Baron family has always had a clear vision of what their estate should be. At Château Haut Baron, the philosophy is that wine must reflect its terroir and identity. The year 2008 was a major turning point for the estate with the start of vinification in their own winery. Their dream of transforming the grapes they cultivate and expressing their terroir’s potential was finally realized.

Château Haut Baron: Innovation Meets Tradition

The Baron family’s ambition goes beyond simply producing quality wines. They are constantly seeking new ways to showcase their estate and wines. Since 2015, Château Haut Baron has embraced wine tourism by opening guest rooms. This initiative allows wine enthusiasts a complete immersion into the world of winemaking and the life of the estate. The family is currently working on creating an additional room located directly above the tasting room, offering a stunning view of the barrel aging area!

Moreover, the estate is always on the lookout for innovation in its wines. Lucas Baron, with his expertise and know-how, has brought a new dynamic to the estate by creating a new cuvée, "Le Petit Baron," a delicious blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. The label of this cuvée even features Maïko's paw print. The estate is also developing new cuvées, including "Passion" (from Saint-Estèphe), which undergoes full barrel fermentation with aging over 24 months, and "Le Petit Verdot" (from Haut-Médoc), aged in amphora.
