Champagne Gustave Goussard, a prestigious vineyard estate, embodies a unique history and philosophy shaped by a deep passion for wine and terroir. When the Goussard family is mentioned, it is the past that first comes to mind, recounting generations of passionate and dedicated winemakers. In 1989, a major chapter in this history was written with Didier Goussard, a newly graduated oenologist, who established the G.A.EC du Val de Sarce in a family partnership. Since 2012, Didier has held sole control of the company while managing a second estate in collaboration with his wife.

Respect for Nature and Tradition

Didier Goussard, driven by a desire to innovate while honoring the traditions passed down by his ancestors, has breathed new life into the estate. Certified organic cuvées emerged under the Champagne Octave Goussard label, while the majority of other cuvées, certified TERRA VITIS, continue to grace tables under the Champagne Gustave Goussard label.

TheDomaine Champagne Gustave Goussard is grounded in respect—respect for the environment, constantly seeking alternative techniques to minimize its impact on nature. An amusing anecdote underscores this ethos: "If you find yourself in a plot with bare soil and no grass: then you are not on our land!"

But respect extends beyond nature. The estate's philosophy also highlights the importance of respecting people and traditions, blending ancient methods with modernity. This approach allows the terroir to fully express itself, resulting in exceptional champagnes.

Since 2011, a transition to organic farming has begun, with organic-certified harvests starting in 2014. Additionally, joining the TERRA VITIS® VIGNOBLE CHAMPENOIS association in 2012 reflects a deep commitment to sustainable viticulture. The estate offers a variety of champagne cuvées: brut, rosé, vintage, demi-sec, and even a zero dosage cuvée to experience the authentic taste of champagne.

A Vision for the Future

Didier Goussard has ambitious plans for his estate. Always on the lookout for alternative techniques, his goal is to strengthen environmentally respectful viticulture. His passion for wine began in his youth, accompanying his parents in the vineyards. Today, his motivation remains unchanged: to bring joy to champagne enthusiasts while finding personal pleasure in the process.
