Domaine Humbrecht: A Family Tradition Since 1619
Located 12 kilometers southwest of Colmar in the picturesque village of Gueberschwihr, the Humbrecht family has passed down the estate from father to son since 1619. After Marthe and Georges, Sylvie and Claude took over the property, which now spans 8 hectares across various terroirs, each contributing its unique characteristics to the wines. The vineyards are situated on the slopes of Gueberschwihr, Eguisheim, Pfaffenheim, and Rouffach, with each terroir imbuing its special qualities into the grapes.
A Sustainable Future: Commitment to Organic and Ecological Viticulture
In 2013, after three years of conversion, the estate's wines were certified organic. Sylvie and Claude made the shift toward a more environmentally friendly approach by using natural raw materials. Their goal is to create exceptional wines while prioritizing the preservation of animal and plant species, thus promoting a balanced natural ecosystem.
