Domaine de Moulines: A Unique Terroir and Distinctive Wines with International Recognition
Located between Montpellier and Nîmes in the heart of Languedoc, Domaine de Moulines enjoys an exceptional natural setting. For five generations, the Saumade family has upheld a tradition of demanding, authentic winemaking focused on quality.
Thanks to its proximity to the Mediterranean Sea and a particularly favorable limestone-clay soil, the estate cultivates a wide array of grape varieties rarely found together in the region. These include Chardonnay, Viognier, Vermentino, Merlot, Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Marselan, and Sangiovese, carefully selected for their ability to reflect the unique character of the Languedoc terroir.
Grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and vinified with precision to preserve their full aromatic expression. Red wines are aged in lined concrete vats or oak barrels for the finest vintages, while white and rosé wines are vinified at low temperatures to retain freshness, finesse, and fruit-forward profiles. The wines of Domaine de Moulines, available through direct sales, are now recognized far beyond French borders, appealing to a discerning clientele both in France and internationally. With a blend of family know-how, modern techniques, and deep respect for nature, the estate stands out today as a benchmark in the appellation.
