A Legacy of Passion at Domaine du Petit Thouars

When Yves and Marguerite du Petit Thouars married in 1974, they could never have imagined that 35 years later, they would be managing a 15-hectare vineyard with a fully-equipped cellar nestled in natural limestone caves. Their journey began with the discovery of family archives in the château, purchased in 1634 under the guidance of Cardinal Richelieu. These archives revealed that vines had been cultivated on the estate for centuries, sparking a passion to revive the vineyard.

Inspired by this rich history and their ancestors' adventurous spirit, Yves and Marguerite decided to replant the vines and dedicate themselves to improving each vintage. Marguerite went on to become a respected wine writer, contributing to prestigious publications such as Cuisine et Vins de France, Le Figaro Magazine, and Amateur de Bordeaux.

Today, Domaine du Petit Thouars stands as a testament to their commitment to the land and their relentless pursuit of excellence in winemaking.
