Founded in 2018, the ChampagneLouis de Chatet brand represents a significant evolution from the estate established in 1973. With vineyards averaging 50 years of age, the estate sought to develop a premium range. By creating these high-end cuvées, Champagne Louis de Chatet aims to showcase its expertise and exceptional terroir.

The Launay family, owners of Champagne Louis de Chatet since 1973, is now composed of three brothers who share the management of the estate. Passionate since childhood, they nostalgically recall moments spent with their father in the cellar, surrounded by the bubbling fermentation. This daily motivation is drawn from their overflowing passion and their desire to share the emotions evoked by their champagnes.

Champagne Louis de Chatet : Exceptional Vineyards and Iconic Cuvées

The name Louis de Chatet originates from the oldest Chardonnay parcel on the estate, planted in 1962. It is from this parcel, named Chatet, that the iconic cuvée Émotion comes, a 2008 vintage Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut. Created in 2008, this cuvée is the flagship of the Louis de Chatet brand, launched ten years later. The 2008 harvest is also one of the estate's most cherished memories. The beauty and quality of the grapes from the Chatet parcel, as well as the exceptional juice obtained, were the catalysts for producing this outstanding cuvée, which became emblematic right from the press!

The winemaker often recalls that the first images that come to mind when he thinks of his estate are the beautiful golden Chardonnay bunches from his favorite parcels. He is proud to produce champagnes that reflect his own style: elegant, light, refined, and with a great length on the palate. The estate's philosophy is simple: prioritize quality over quantity. This commitment aligns with a more environmentally respectful cultivation method and a reasoned use of plant protection products to preserve the natural environment and wildlife. The estate has also achieved certifications in Sustainable Viticulture and High Environmental Value level 3.

Champagne Louis de Chatet has ambitious plans for the coming years. One of the estate’s priorities is to strengthen the Louis de Chatet brand's presence in the French market and enhance its international visibility. To achieve this, the estate initially focused on growing to a size sufficient to meet its goals. With 14 hectares of vineyards, two-thirds in the Marne and one-third in the Côte des Bar, Champagne Louis de Chatet now has everything it needs to establish itself as a key player in Champagne!
